If you have ever been to Central Florida, you know one thing, it is flat. Not much in the way of hills or terrain, but this is different at Alafia River State Park. You actually get some rather unique and pronounced altitude changes and that has made it a favorite park for both horseback riders and mountain bikers.
The park boasts over 20 miles of trails that will take you through forests and lakes. You will find that most of the trails provide cover, making them suitable for year round use. There is also ample opportunity to fish on the river and the small lakes located throughout the park.
The park has just 30 campsites that are available for tent or RV camping. All will have both electricity and water access.
Tip
Check your trail map. Some trails are exclusive to your mode of transportation.
