Anastasia State Park is located on the Atlantic side of Florida near St Augustine Florida.

Most of the beach camping in Florida is not actually on the beach and Anastasia State Park is no exception to this rule. It is, however, very near the water.  Just a short walk to the ocean and close enough that you will feel the ocean breezes.

The park consists of over 1600 acres of beaches, tidal marshes and sand dunes and an abundant amount of wildlife. Of particular abundance is the fantastic bird life ranging from Roseate Spoonbills to Osprey.

There are 139 campsites in the park, but book them early, especially in the Summer months. Camping is $28 a night but if you just want to come for the day, the rate is $8 per car load. All campsites, including the tent only sites have both electricity and water.

Should You Visit This Park?

If you want to camp close to the water, this is a great choice. A short walk in the morning gives you a view of one of the best sunrises in the country. The electrical access at the campsites also allows you to bring a little modern convenience with you which is important, especially if you are bringing young kids.

Tip

You will likely find the beach area very shelly. This can make the sand a bit rougher, so if you have sensitive feet, a pair of water shoes or sandals that you do not mind getting wet will come in handy.

Park Information

Like all Florida State Parks, if you plan to camp you need to make reservations in advance.
