Nissan Titan Bed Rack.

Bed Rack Build On A 2024 Nissan Titan

When I bought my 2024 Nissan Titan, I knew I wanted to turn it into a capable weekend adventure rig, something that could haul gear, store recovery tools, and still look good doing it. After some research, I pieced together a setup that’s both functional and modular. A combination of Billie Bars crossbars complete with side molle panels, a Rhino Rack platform and a few custom touches to make it suit my needs.

Please note, this is not a heavy duty rock crawler. This is my daily driver. So i needed something that is fully functional during the week but has my gear where I want it on the weekend.

The Base: Billie Bars Crossbars

The foundation of the setup starts with Billie Bars. Their aluminum crossbar system fits the Titan perfectly and includes the optional Molle panels on each side, a great addition for mounting recovery gear, fuel containers or just about anything you’d hang on a trail rig. I add and remove gear as I need it, to suit the trip I am taking. I can remove everything easily so I am not that guy carrying around empty fuel cans every day.
Installation was straightforward: the brackets bolt into the factory utili-track rails, and the crossbars slide right in. It was a complete no drill installation. Once tightened down, everything felt solid and ready to handle some serious weight. They have a capacity to hold 400 pounds of Dynamic weight and 800 pounds of static weight.

Making It Modular: Rhino Rack Platform

On top of the Billie Bars, I mounted a Rhino Rack Pioneer platform. This platform ties everything together and gives me modular capability. It gives me a flat, versatile surface for storage and makes the truck look rugged and ready for duty. With the T-solts on the Rhino Rack, I can mount just about anything I want and position it however I like.
I used mounting brackets from Billie Bars to mount the Rhino Rack to my crossbars.  There are dozens of ways to DIY the mounting but the brackets are stout and give it a more finished look.

Tip: Look for clearance platforms and check the internet for Rhino Rack promo codes. My platform was under $400 shipped.

Adding Storage: Boxes and Accessories

Next came the accessories and this is where the setup really shines. I mounted two Apache boxes from Harbor Freight directly onto the platform. They’re affordable, waterproof, and lockable. The boxes are perfect for tools, recovery straps and smaller gear I don’t want bouncing around in the bed. Don’t let the price of these boxes fool you. They have weathered the sun and a New Mexico sandstorm abd come out looking like new. These boxes stay on almost all of the time.

Apache Boxes

Using the molle panels, I also have 2 smaller Apache boxes that come off and on as needed. I mainly use these for first aid gear and items that I need very quick access too.

Next, I added a spare tire mount. Nothing fancy here, I got this from Amazon and it has held up well and is lockable. Could a thief steal my tire, sure but it would take some effort and security is only really there to stop lazy thieves. You might notice that tire size looks stock, and they are. Stock tires on a Pro4X are essentially 33s and fit in the stock location under the bed. This is actually a second spare I picked up since I play around rocks. Have one spare and you can get home, Have 2 spares and you can keep going.

Spare Tire Carrier

At the very back of the rack I have some tie downs that I use to secure miscellaneous items as needed. Some eye bolts just come in handy.

Finally, you have the WeBoost antenna. This one is the overland version which has the foldable mounts. It stays up most of the  time but I can lower it for obstacles on the trail and those encountered in parking garages. If you are considering a cell phone booster I can tell you that I have been very happy with the WeBoost kit. It makes a difference albeit not a dramitic one. Expect to get an extra bar where you already have signal. If you have no signal, you will still have no signal however.

To Sum It Up

This rack setup completely transformed my Titan. It’s rugged, functional, and ready for any trip. It also gets a lot of looks. The combination of Bille Bars and Rhino Rack offers a perfect balance between strength and modularity and with the added storage boxes, tire carrier, and booster, it’s ready for road trips, camping and trail duty.
